A delicious spot for Asian takeout with plenty of vegetarian options, the quality and value of Doc Chey's far exceeds its humble, fast-casual digs. I used to frequent their since-closed bowl-based location near Emory while in school, but hadn't been to their Morningside location in years. We stopped in for takeout on a weekday, and were so impressed that it has quickly been added to our list of neighborhood go-to's. Featuring lighter takes on the usually greasy takeout classics, Doc Chey's has plenty to choose from. First and foremost, this spot offers one of my favorite dishes that I find sort of hard to come by in Atlanta- summer rolls. Doc Chey's version are vegetarian and so refreshing, served with a sticky sweet and smokey Asian barbecue sauce. Just perfect. I paired that with an order of their delicious stir-fried green beans and excellent tofu lettuce wraps. She went old-school and tried their kids fried rice, which was tasty, huge, and an almost impossibly great value. An old classic that is now a new favorite.

This restaurant deserves all the hype! I got the Mongolian stir fry with tofu. It was delicious and I loved that there was such great meatless options :) The dining area was very calm and food came out fast. Great place for a casual meal with family, friends, or coworkers.

No question at all- I would eat here again. I just ordered the wrong thing. My goal is to guide you so that you have the best experience. Next time I go I will order the Japanese Teriyaki Udon noodles, and the crispy Brussels sprouts - both were superlative. Our friends ordered the Brussels sprouts and kindly let me sample them- they were delicious, truly crispy (not greasy- if you love this appetizer as I do, you will understand the distinction. Fried brussels sprouts are showing up everywhere now - they even have them at the Chik-fil-a restaurant in Newnan!) I suspect most everything on the menu is good and fresh. But I made a classic mistake: I ordered a dish that I have perfected myself: spicy Thai basil noodles. Not a single Thai basil leaf graced my plate. I ordered it as "veggie" expecting an abundance of fresh vegetables, but the (beautifully cooked) vegetables were scarce. Bok choy was included in the description, but they were a rare find in my mound of noodles. There was a purée squiggle which I believe included Thai basil that I mixed into my dish, along with the bed of grated salad greens that accompanied our straight from the freezer to the frying pan Crispy Veggie Spring Rolls. The quality gap between them and the crispy Brussels sprouts was vast. Our friends, who live in the neighborhood, said that the woke-fired green beans were also a stand-out dish. The condiment selection on the table was excellent, including a seasoned salt/ sesame seeds blend, Sriracha, and soy sauce. I would also advise against the Pad Thai, as it looked remarkably like my Thai basil. Friendly staff, great vibe, excellent iced tea (unsweetened jasmine and slightly sweet black tea). Good budget choice, and great place to meet friends as you place your order at the counter, find a seat (outside or indoors) and your food is brought to your table promptly. When we finished, staff magically appeared with fortune cookies and an offer for a takeaway container. So, yes, I will return, no question. And I truly appreciate how vegan / vegetarian friendly it is!

Doc Chey's Szechuan Chicken Bowl is a delight for the taste buds! The tender chicken, perfectly seasoned with Szechuan spices, pairs harmoniously with the fresh vegetables and savory sauce. Each bite bursts with flavor, leaving you craving more. Whether you're a spice enthusiast or prefer milder flavors, this bowl offers the perfect balance of heat and taste. With generous portions and impeccable quality, it's a must-try for any Asian cuisine lover. The employees are also great, very social and helpful.

I love their Thai coconut soup and Chinese Lo mien. They're located right across from Pure Barr class and have some very healthy food options for vegan, vegetarian and non vegetarian. It used to be my go to spot after the class when I lived around the area. It can be seen from regular traffic as it has an iconic Thai hut architecture. Their food is flavorful and umami. The service is fast, cozy, and the staff is friendly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. There is ample parking in the plaza and around the restaurant. They offer dine in, togo and delivery through most major apps.

This place is right in Morningside in a shopping center with plenty of parking. It has a nice screened patio to enjoy your food! You order at the counter and your food is brought out to you! The staff is always smiling here! The food is good depending on what you get, I got a special the last time and have no clue what it was called but it was delicious! They also have beer and sake! If you're in morningside looking for a nice lil lunch, it's worth the try.

I stopped by on a random Friday for lunch. The restaurant was basically empty. Perhaps maybe six people tops. I was greeted by a lovely hostess, who informed me of the specials and also check to see if my number was still in the system. It was! I ordered the special and the barbecue buns, which I really didn't like but oh no not to get those again. All my food was delivered fresh and hot. The restaurant was clean and relaxing. Happy to be back after being gone for two years living in Florida. The food here in Atlanta cannot be beat.
